The Super Lig transfer window in Turkey had closed on Friday evening, which meant that any further negotiations or signings were no longer possible.
According to reports, Mather and his team had already agreed on the terms of his contract with Kayserispor. A fee had also been settled between Manchester United and Kayserispor, with a clause that allowed United to buy Mather back in the future.
Despite the progress made, Manchester United's management team decided that there wasn't enough time to finalize the transfer before the transfer window closed. As a result, the deal was cancelled.
