Speaking to the Arsenal website, Zubimendi explained that Arsenal was always his top choice after deciding to leave Real Sociedad.
"Once I made the decision to leave, I set my sights on Arsenal because I think their style of play is a good fit for me," he said.
He praised the team's youth, motivation, and ambition, and expressed his belief in the team's potential for growth.
"As soon as you set foot here, you realise how big this club and this team are," he said, thanking Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta and his staff for making him feel welcome.
His move to Arsenal also brings a reunion with former La Real teammate Martin Odegaard.
Zubimendi also spoke about his friendship with other former La Real teammates who now play for Arsenal, including Mikel Merino and goalkeeper David Raya, who is part of the Spain squad.
"I'm happy to be here with them. I've played many games alongside Merino over the years, and it's great to have them here," he said.
He believes that their presence will make his transition to the team much easier.
