Sancho was part of Manchester United's group of players who were not playing regularly, often referred to as the 'bomb squad'. This group also included Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Antony. Aston Villa, who previously signed Rashford on loan from United in January, has now confirmed the temporary signing of Sancho.
Sancho still has one year left on his contract at Old Trafford, although Manchester United has the option to extend it by another 12 months. However, it seems unlikely that United will exercise this option.
