His Chelsea contract runs until the summer of 2026, but it appears he will be leaving the West London club without a first-team appearance. Sturge spent time in Brighton's academy before joining Chelsea, and he also had experience in League One with a loan at Peterborough in the 2023-24 season, making 15 appearances.
Millwall's head coach, Alex Neil, was impressed with Sturge's performance during his debut. Neil mentioned a few areas where Sturge could improve, but overall, he was pleased with the youngster's performance.
Sturge started his career at the Cre8tive Football Academy before joining Brighton's academy in 2019. He will be a welcome addition to Millwall's team as they head into the new campaign.
It is expected that a deal has been agreed between Millwall and Chelsea, allowing Sturge to join the Lions permanently.
