Grealish, who is on loan from Manchester City, was thrilled with the result. "It was a massive game for us, our first match at the new stadium, and we wanted to put on a show for our fans," he said.
"I think we certainly did that. Playing against Brighton is always tough, but we're happy to have come out on top." Grealish also expressed his love for his time at Manchester City, where he spent four successful years.
However, he felt it was time for a change and was drawn to Everton's manager, David Moyes. "As soon as I spoke to him on FaceTime, I knew this was the place I wanted to come," Grealish said.
David Moyes praised Grealish's display, saying he was eager to prove himself. "He was game for it, he didn't try to shy away from anything," Moyes said.
"He probably has something to prove, but that's a challenge he's ready to take on. Hopefully, he'll continue to show us what he's capable of."
