Spence has been praised for his versatility, capable of operating on both flanks. He has stepped up under new manager Thomas Frank in preseason, after fighting his way back into the Tottenham setup under former boss Ange Postecoglou last season.
"I'm over the moon. I'm happy to sign and I just can't wait to start the season," Spence said of his new contract. "I just want to keep playing well and reach higher levels. Everyone has trials and tribulations, but I'm a fighter, so I always work hard, try to do my best, and come back from there."
Spence has also spoken about the support he has received from Thomas Frank since joining the club. "The new manager has been good with me. He speaks with me a lot and gives me confidence, so I think that is very important for a player," he said.
Spence's new contract includes the option of a further year, and he has stated that he wants to reward fan support with another trophy after helping win the Europa League last season. "Without the fans, it'll be very hard to get to where we want to get to so together for the rest of the season we can definitely do something big," he said.
Spence's target for the season is to win a trophy, play as many games as he can, and just win. "It's a good feeling, you know. I just want to repay them with good performances and winning games," he said.
